I wrote this for my year 2017 focus, now it’s the end of 2021, I’m looking back to 4 years ago. I stumbled to this list when I was searching for a document about all the business ideas I had since.

At that time I was very serious about learning digital marketing. I love how complex interdisciplinary it is, plus I thought that digital marketing is a skill that everyone should at least aware of, that it will be beneficiary for our personal branding as well. It will get us places. I enjoyed learning while practicing those skills at my job. Learning from online resources, taking the free certifications from Google, Facebook, HubSpot, like really, bless the internet! I had reached my goal in my career (to become a Marketing Manager) in the field that I like. I got to work with awesome people. I know how digital marketing works. I believe it will always be a part of me no matter where my career heads to, or life leads me to.
I also learned trading and investing. Financial literacy topics started to get the spotlight at that year. I had joined a Day Course at the Indonesia Stock Market but haven’t really put an action. In 2017, I got better at my career, able to save some money from my income, so I decided to invest while also learning from books and online resources. Right now, I’m enjoying the benefit of my (low-risk) investment from P2P lending (I use Koinworks), bonds (I use Bibit), gold, and regular Bank Deposits. It is not much, I’m still quite far from my goal, but I thank myself for putting it into the list, take actions, and do it regularly. I got myself exposed to that matter, understand the basic idea about risk and profit, compound interest, etc that I can continue working on.
Traveling (to see the world) is something that I would never say no to. But I realised that I have to sacrifice between time-money-pleasure. I focused on my career because I want to do well at my job. So putting “travel 2x a year” wasn’t hard and I really enjoyed it too. I got to do a road trip in Western Australia, went to Yogyakarta for an indie music festivals, short trips to Bandung for my birthday, and…… to make it even better, I got myself in a healthy relationship (thank you, universe!). To spend times together with the people you love and care about, growing up together, on top of everything else on my list, is the most thing that I’m grateful for.
Now there’s only one left from that 2017 list. I did apply for a Masters degree scholarship abroad but I didn’t get the opportunity (yet). I was only applying to one institution, so it’s still on my 2022 list. I got a better view of what I want to learn for my master’s degree because now I have a clearer bigger picture of what I want to do.
I’m a believer of the Law of Attraction. The Alchemist is one of my favourite books.
